This article explains how to configure tests to allow candidates to return to previously completed sections.
Creating a test with sections
You can enable the option to move back to a previous test section directly from the test wizard while creating a new test.
- During the test creation process, in the Sections step, click “Add Section.”
- While creating the section, proceed to the Settings step, click Show advanced settings, and navigate to the Security and data control section.
- Enable the Revisiting section option.
This feature allows candidates to move between sections until they submit their answers by clicking the Finish section button.
Note: Once a candidate submits the answers in a section, it is no longer possible to return to it, regardless of which options are enabled.

Enabling Section Revisit in an Existing Test
You can also enable the revisiting section feature in an already created test. To do so:
- Navigate to Manage Test.
- Select the desired Test with Sections.
- Go to the Sections tab.
- In the Action column, click on the Details icon.
- From the side menu, select Test Configuration.
- Enable Revisiting Section.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Once saved, the revisiting section option will be enabled for the selected section, allowing candidates to return to it until they submit their answers.
Note: This option must be enabled separately for each section.
Candidate Perspective
When the feature is enabled, and the candidate starts a test with two or more sections, they can switch between sections as follows:
- Click on the Sections table. A list of available sections and their status will be displayed.
- Select the section the candidate wishes to access.
- Click Continue to section to begin or resume that section.
Note: A candidate cannot revisit a section if the Enable Revisiting Section option was not checked for that section in the test settings.
